Perhaps you picked up a Christian book by a well-known author only to be confused when you read statements like, “The Bible is primarily written by humans.”

Or perhaps you’ve listened to a prominent Christian leader speak about their ‘change of heart’ with regards to biblical expectations of sexuality or marriage. Maybe you’ve read that substitutionary atonement was immoral and abusive—a loving God would never do that or the Bible must be read through the lens of decolonization and remove patriarchal influences that have dominated our interpretations for centuries.

These are common ideas promoted within progressive Christianity.  Discover what God may be up to and come learn with us. Lee Strobel put it this way: “Alisa fearlessly confronts distortions and outright falsehoods that fuel so much progressive theology. She exposes the often subtle deceptions that too many Christians have been uncritically accepting as gospel truth.”

What in the world is progressive Christianity?

At Willerup, we pursue the Glory of God through worship, ministry, giving and education. We strive to connect with Jesus Christ and to each other, in order to magnify His name. At the heart of everything we do is the understanding that we must love God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and to treat our neighbors as we wish to be treated ourselves.

Visiting a new church can be intimidating if you don’t know what to expect. As soon as you enter the doors of Willerup, you will be welcomed by a dedicated group of believers. We sing, pray and worship together. We have opportunities to learn, serve and grow for all ages--check out our Youth Group and Cambridge Area Awana pages to learn more about all of our activities.

Come and grow with us.
