God hates?

“God hates? I thought God is love. God loves me!”
Yes — God is love.
And because He loves us, there are things He absolutely refuses to bless (Proverbs 6).
Not because He hates people —but because He hates what is quietly destroying us.
Think about it:
If a doctor finds cancer, they don’t say,
“Well… I love you. Let’s just leave it there.”
Love doesn’t ignore what kills.Love goes after it.
And sometimes when these things take root, we start to feel distance from God:
• emotions running high and hard to calm
• low-grade anger always simmering
• rigidity — needing to be right
• comparing ourselves to everyone else
• resentment building quietly
• misunderstanding people and assuming the worst
• entitlement — “I deserve better”
• resisting God’s calling when it means change
• outward faith… but inward rebellion
We say, “God feels far away.” But often, what’s really happening is: We’re nurturing things God will never partner with.
Proverbs names them:
• pride that refuses correction
• lying — even “small lies”
• scheming to get our way
• rushing toward what we know is wrong
• stirring up suspicion, gossip, and division
God “hates” these — not because He is cruel, but because they deform us.
They always lead to:
➡️ smaller hearts
➡️ fractured relationships
➡️ inner chaos
➡️ a slow drift from God
➡️ death disguised as “freedom”
Here’s the hope: Naming the sin is the doorway to healing.
When we finally say, “Lord — I see it. Pride. Control. Resentment. Comparison. I don’t want this ruling my life anymore…” Grace meets us there — like a skilled physician who knows exactly how to treat the disease.
God isn’t trying to shame you. He is trying to restore you.
He loves you — deeply, fiercely, faithfully. And because He loves you, He will not bless what is breaking you. His “No” is mercy. His correction is kindness. His goal is life.
If you have the guts, pray: “Search me, O God… and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139)
